Robusteel Engineering
06 / Founder

The practice is built on one engineer's record.

Robusteel Engineering exists because critical steel infrastructure deserves specialists, not generalists. I founded it to bring PhD-level analysis and field-tested judgment under one roof.

01In my own words

Thirteen years on towers — from the analysis software to the top of the structure.

I am a structural engineer with over 13 years of professional experience in the analysis, verification and design of steel structures, with a strong focus on overhead transmission towers in the 110 – 400 kV range and the broader energy infrastructure that surrounds them.

My work sits where advanced numerical analysis meets practical field engineering. I run the models, but I also climb the structures, document the joints and write the reports that operators and EPC contractors actually use to make decisions. That combination — academic depth and on-site judgment — is the reason I founded Robusteel Engineering.

My doctoral research at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (UTCN) focused on the structural assessment of high-voltage overhead line support structures — many of which have been in service for more than sixty years. That work continues to shape how the practice approaches retrofits, residual capacity and the honest evaluation of aging steel.

Today I serve grid operators, EPC contractors and industrial clients across Romania, with a long-term focus on the European Union energy transition. The mission is simple: structures that are honestly assessed, soundly designed and safely operated.

03Focus

What I personally lead on every project.

  • Overhead transmission towers (110 – 400 kV)
  • Structural assessment of aging steel
  • Bolted connections — modelling & retrofit
  • Forensic & failure-cause investigation
  • Substation steel & lattice systems
  • Field inspection & condition reporting
  • Numerical modelling (FEM, parametric)
  • Eurocode-compliant verification
04The Practice

A specialist office, not a general engineering firm.

Robusteel Engineering is a specialized structural engineering company focused on the assessment, design and technical evaluation of steel structures and high-voltage infrastructure. The practice exists at the intersection of advanced structural analysis, hands-on field engineering and academic depth.

We work on the structures that hold up the electrical grid: transmission towers, substation steel, lattice systems and the connections that bind them together. The work demands honesty — about what the structure is doing, what it has been doing for decades, and what it can be asked to do next.
